A Wetherby estate agency has been crowned the town's best in the British Property Awards.
Linley & Simpson - an independent Yorkshire agency in its 25th year - will now go forward to fly the flag for Wetherby in a number of regional and national 2021 awards run by the BPA, which will be announced later in the year.
The lettings service offered by the team at Linley & Simpson's North Street branch scored highest when put to the test with calls and emails by a team of mystery shoppers and judged against 25 different criteria.
Branch manager Emily Wilkinson said: "There is no shortage of quality estate agents across our district so to scoop this accolade is a real credit to the home-grown talent of our team here.
"The awards represent a perfect opportunity to put our customer service to the sternest scrutiny from independent mystery shoppers – who hailed our approach as 'outstanding'."
The British Property Awards are one of the most inclusive estate agency awards as there is no entry fee, ensuring maximum participation. On average, over 90% of agents that meet its minimum criteria on a local level are assessed.
Robert McLean, a British Property Awards spokesman, said: "Our mission is to provide a useful award for the consumer on a local level, highlighting excellence within their town. Ours is an award that can be trusted and used as part of their decision-making process.
"Agents who go that extra mile and provide outstanding levels of customer service are rewarded with our accolade, which acts as a beacon to highlight these attributes to their local marketplace.
"Where an agent has been attributed with one of our awards, it is simply down to the fantastic customer service levels that have been demonstrated over a number of months.
"Winning agents should be proud that their customer service levels provide a benchmark for their local, regional and national competition".
As providers of "the most comprehensive" awards in the property sector, the BPA compiles a team of experts who judge all agencies which meet a basic criteria within a given town, before selecting which agency has performed outstandingly.
Judging criteria is both comprehensive and detailed, exploring different mediums, scenarios and time periods to ensure agents have been rigorously and fairly judged.
